I share my home with Brin, my Caribbean island rescue (a.k.a. The Brinster, Brindle Bear, Brinnie) and Sophie, my domestic shorthair cat adopted from the Phoenix Humane Society. (The photo is of Monet, a foster kitty I had while in Veterinary School. I just love that photo!)
What Veterinary School did you go to?
Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with clinical rotations performed at Washington State University.
Can you share an interesting or funny experience from Veterinary School?
One of my favorite experiences was watching a laryngeal exam on camera while a race horse ran on a treadmill to study airway function. It was exhilarating being that close to such an athletic horse in full gallop. Worst job was performing rectal palpations in cows to assess their pregnancy status. One has to wear long plastic sleeves and literally go up to your shoulder into the hind end of a cow!
